| Frequentley Asked Questions
Q Do you have a list of the Search Engines and FFA sites that you submit to? A Yes, many places on our site have blue clickable links to our Search Engine and FFA Lists. You can find them on our main page and at the bottom of the submit form, as well as other areas of our site. Q Are all your Search Engines and FFA Sites up to date? A Yes, we update them every 10 to 15 days. We have a robot that submits a key URL every two weeks and then spiders the site to make sure that it has been posted. If our spider does not find the URL it moves the site in question to a holding area where we check it manually. If a site is found not to be working during this process, it is removed from our list. Q Your service says it can't find my site, what does that mean? A It means that our spider was unable to get a response from your web server. This may mean a temporary network outage or that your host's web server was to busy to answer the request, you may even have typed the URL in wrong. The best thing to do is to follow the instructions completely on the error page that you receive. Q What is a dynamically created web site? A A dynamically created web site, is usually a web page that does not actually exist rather it is created on the fly as it is requested. Normally this is done by a cgi script or similar program. If you do not have an actual html file on your site that you can edit, chances are that is created as it is needed, hence the name "dynamically created". Q Why do you not accept dynamically created web sites through your free service? A The main reason is that our spider does not have an actual web page to find. As the page is created by a web server program as it is needed, there is nothing physical for us to look for. This generally results in a "We could not find your Site" message. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about this. Q Why do you not allow MLM or Affiliate programs to post through your free service? A Well, the main reason is duplication. The majority of the MLM and Affiliate sites typically sign up thousands of people. Each person receives a generic web page promoting a specific product or service. Each of these people want to register their new web page with the Search Engines. This results in thousands of pages registered with the Search Engines with the exact same content. Basically the only thing that changes is the name of the page. IE: 1234.html 1235.html etc. Q Are you guys trying to discourage doing business on the web? A Not at all, as a matter of fact, the majority of the submissions we receive are people running businesses, whether it be home based, small business or corporate entities. We like to think we can give these people a start on the web by helping them get there name out on the web for free. What we are trying to discourage is MLM and Affiliate programs web page duplication. We figure that if a person joins an MLM or Affiliate program and is serious about it, than they won't mind paying a very low fee to have their web site submitted by our Premium Promotion Service. Q I have an MLM web site, how am I supposed to submit it? A Use our Premium Promotion program. With this service we will automatically submit your web site to 1500+ Link Lists and Search Engines. Q Your site says I have an MLM site and will not allow it, but I don't, what do I do? A Check your Urltitle, Description and Keywords. We determine if a web site is allowable by a predetermined list of keywords. These keywords are typically used to describe an MLM or Business Opportunity (Affiliate) web site. Some examples are: get rich, viagra, no start up, partnership program, business opportunity, etc.. etc.. Sorry, but we do not supply a list of words that we search for. Q How often should I re-submit my site? A Typically you should re-submit your site to the Search Engines ever 90 days or so and to the FFA Link sites every two weeks. However through our free service we only allow you to submit the same URL once every 30 days. We will then send you a reminder message when the 30 day period has ended that it may be time to re-submit your site. At that time all your sites information is deleted from our database. Q What if I want to re-submit my site more often than every 30 days? A If you would like to have your site submitted every two weeks, please check out our Premium Promotion Service. Q Why do I receive so many emails when I submit using your service? A They are confirmation messages from the FFA Links pages that your site was registered with. We have found that around 50% of the FFA Link lists send some sort of confirmation message. If you are not interested in what they have to offer simply delete them, but keep in mind they have allowed you to get exposure by carrying your URL on their site so they do at least deserve the right to send you an email. Q Do you put me on a mailing list when I submit my site? A No, we do not have any sort of mailing list. We use your email address for two purposes the first is to send you a confirmation message that your site has been submitted. The second is to send you a reminder message 30 days after your submission that you should re-submit your site. Once the reminder message is sent all information about your web site including your email address is automatically deleted from our database. Q Will I end up on a mailing list from submitting my site? A Yes, most likely you will. It seems that not all list owners are equally moral, some (not all) may use their FFA Link Lists simply as a way to gather email addresses. That is why it is always a good idea to have an alternate email address that you use strictly for promotion. Do not use a phony email address as most sites, including ours will ban your web site from submitting again if the address cannot be reached. Q Should I register every page on my web site? A No, you should only register 2 or 3 of your top level pages. Registering every page on your site may cause some of the Major Search Engines to remove your web site information from their database and ban you from submitting again. Q How come you don't allow more keywords? A We have done a lot of research to find out the maximum amount of keywords and the longest description that is allowable by a majority of the Search Engines and FFA Link listings. Any more than we allow at the moment will cause your submission to fail on most of them. Q Why does the title of my web site have to be over 30 characters? A The title of your site is probably the single most important item to consider when registering your site. It is going to be the first thing that people see on an FFA Link page and it is what comes up in the Search Engines when and a web surfer does a search. Q Do you have a resellers plan? A Not at the moment, but we may consider it in the future. Q I typed in the wrong information, what can I do? A Nothing, once you hit the submit button, you information is immediately sent to the Search Engines and FFA sites. All our submission are done in real time, that is why we have the warning "Once you hit the Submit Button there is no turning back". Just make sure that the next time you register your site you take a little more time to make sure the information is correct. |
